Meet Dr. Christina Lord

Christina Lord, M.D. is an OB/GYN board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is also a Certified Menopause Practitioner by the North American Menopause Society. She is the owner of Oak Pointe Wellness Center in Leesville, LA and provides gynecologic and cosmetic services to our community.

Dr. Lord is a Wampus Cat and graduated from Leesville High School in 1991. From there, she completed her Bachelors of Science degree  in Microbiology from LSU in Baton Rouge. She then lived in Shreveport for one year during graduate school, working in a biology lab, when she decided to go to medical school. Dr. Lord obtained her Medical Degree from LSUHSC in Shreveport. Finally, she specialized as an OB/GYN at The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. She moved home to Leesville in 2004 and opened her solo OB/GYN clinic.

Dr. Lord has 22 years of experience as an OB/GYN. She offers gynecologic services such as wellness exams, treatments for abnormal periods, ovarian cysts, urinary incontinence, UTI’s, STD’s, pelvic pain, acne, PMS, menopause, and birth control options. Although her career started with offering the full range of services in obstetrical care/deliveries and gynecologic services/surgeries, she now has transitioned her practice to that of an office-based gynecologic office with focus in menopausal wellness.

In 2007 Dr. Lord started offering cosmetic medical services at the request of her patients. She personally offers laser hair removal, chemical peels, injections of Botox/Dysport, and wart/mole removal. Dr. Lord is known for her ability to enhance beauty with natural looking results, noting that the best cosmetic injections are the ones people can't tell you've had. Her team includes licensed massage therapists and estheticians, and a variety of sub-speciality doctors visit weekly offering additional medical services such as general surgery and neurosurgery.

What Dr. Lord enjoys most about her career is the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with all her patients, by getting to know them personally.  She takes the time to learn not only about their medical history but also asks questions about their lives, how they are feeling and how she can help.

"My goal is to offer the community services that they would ordinarily find in a much larger community. I renovated the building to emulate a modern, urban facility, while preserving our local history. I provide services that my colleagues offer in Houston, Atlanta and New Orleans. I don’t want our patients to waste money on gas when I can give them confidential, competent care here in CENLA. I push myself and my staff to think outside the box, and to be diligent in delivering quality, not quantity. Meanwhile, I try to stay grounded and humble. After all, it really is an honor for patients to trust me to care for their well-being. " -Christina A. Lord MD
